Director of Bioinformatics
The Director of Bioinformatics will lead a team of bioinformaticians, computational biologists, data scientists, DevOps and software engineers to develop and validate a multi-omics, machine learning, and AI-driven analytics pipeline. You will be responsible for analyzing various aspects of community composition and multiomics data with an initial focus on data normalization, data reduction, and feature selection and engineering. You will also be responsible for contributing to and maintaining our informatics architecture directly and through delegating tasks to our DevOps and Bioinformatics teams. Experience in database administration is required since you will serve as bridge between our Bioinformatics and DevOps teams. Your code will be integrated into our growing, modular pipeline, and you will be expected to add exciting modules that enables or enhances our downstream efforts in using machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict various stages of colorectal cancer.
You will be expected to take ownership, provide guidance and feedback on bioinformatics software development, machine learning operations (MLOps), and deployment to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to co-author pivotal publications, patent applications, and FDA submissions through the FDA Breakthrough Devices Program.
Assay Development/Lab Director - NGS Molecular Diagnostics
POSITION SUMMARY:
Metabiomics is seeking an experienced Laboratory Director and Senior Scientist with excellent interpersonal, managerial, and molecular biology skills. The Lab Director will be responsible for design, provisioning, and managing our new Molecular Diagnostics R&D Laboratory and managing the daily operations of the lab in collaborating with the Clinical R&D and Computational Biology teams to provide general support for ongoing studies and clinical trials. This position requires someone who has a strong understanding of genomics, experience in next generation sequencing and microbiology.
This is an exciting opportunity for an independent, creative, assay-development-oriented individual to help build a state-of-the-art NGS clinical research and molecular diagnostics sequencing laboratory. The laboratory director will be responsible for the design, provisioning, staff recruitment, and daily operation of a high throughput clinical genome and metagenome sequencing center including oversight of laboratory technologists, technical trouble-shooting validation and testing processes, reviewing lab results, developing and documenting operational procedures, monitoring laboratory key performance indicators, quality metrics and the QC program, timely reporting of quality event reporting to the laboratory director and to quality management, and provide regulatory, due diligence and internal auditing support.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in NGS and qualifications to obtain certification and accreditation experience with CLIA/CAP. We are looking for someone who wants a challenging leadership position in the next-generation delivery of personalized health solutions focused on development of in-vitro molecular diagnostic assays of complex gastrointestinal cancers, autoimmune, infectious, and polymicrobial diseases leading to novel preventative interventions. Experienced NGS laboratory supervisors, managers, directors are encouraged to apply.
Senior Data Scientist
Metabiomics is seeking an ambitious data scientist with an interest in navigating the data rich world of the human microbiome. A background in the microbiome is not required, only a willingness to understand challenging, sparse data with multivariate signatures is needed to be successful in this position. You will be responsible for analyzing various aspects of community composition and multiomics data with an initial focus on data normalization, data reduction, and feature selection and engineering.
Your code will be integrated into our growing, modular pipeline, and you will be expected to add exciting modules that enables or enhances our downstream efforts in using machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict various stages of colorectal cancer (and a growing list of other indication areas). You will work closely with our data architects in order to ensure your code seamlessly integrates and is compliant with various regulation standards.
